What we collect, why, and who we share it with.

Restaurant Insurance Canada is an Ontario insurance brokerage. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you submit a quote request we collect your name, business name, type of business, city, email address and phone number. When we work on your insurance, we also collect the business details needed to quote and place coverage, such as sales, operations, building information and claims history. We collect standard website analytics, such as pages visited and general location, through cookies and similar tools.

Why we collect it

We use your information to contact you, to prepare quotes, to arrange and service your insurance, including certificates, policy changes, renewals and claims, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We use analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

Who we share it with

We share your information with insurers as needed to obtain quotes and to place and service your coverage. We use service providers to host the site and send email, and they process data only on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can ask us to access or correct the information we hold about you, or withdraw consent to further contact, by emailing info@commercialinsurance.ca. Some information may need to be kept to meet legal or regulatory requirements. Insurers that receive your information to quote or place coverage also handle it under their own privacy policies.

Retention and security

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide our services and meet our legal and regulatory obligations, and we protect it with reasonable safeguards.
